Year of the Dog (and B's 30th)

On Saturday B asked us, a few friend's and family out to Lerida Winery for his big three O, it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon and a great space (Glenn Murcutt designed shed). The wine was pretty average but the company, building and food made up for the promise of good vino. The kids had a great time running around the timber barrel's and everyone seemed not to be too fussed they were there. C made the best birthday chocolate cake with sprinkles, which for the kids was the hit of the lunch.

We then headed off to Pau Pau's and Goong Goong's for Chinese New Year's Eve family dinner, unfortunately D and S couldn't come. I found it was somehow more relaxed this year than previous one's (the hypno-relaxo tape B gave me to listen too must be working or either the kids are older and all of us wiser) the food was outstanding I think mum got all the dishes perfect this year - good luck for the next I am sure.

We had pork and cellophane noodle spring rolls - deep fried and served wrapped in lettuce leaves, herbs and cucumber - chilli sauce and sesame oil with soy sauce as condiments, boiled Chinese sausage, prawn squid and pork wonton soup, white cut chicken, whole snapper with soy, sesame oil, sugar and shallot dressing, fried garlic and soy sauce prawns, lucky mushrooms, mussels with garden fresh tomato chilli sauce and a plate of chopped garden tomatoes and chilli.

Remember no using knives or sweeping on Sunday.
