What starts well...

Characters:
Mother, Father, Daughter (4), Son (2), 2 sister inlaws, 2 partners of sister in laws, 1 daughter of sister in law (almost 6), Grandmother and Grandfather.

Setting:
Idyllic coastal setting in architecturally designed and owner built house remote from a major city.

Timing:
Christmas and New Year 2006.

Major Contributing Themes:
Christmas feasting, beach and sun, presents over 5 days (due to birthday of Daughter - 4). Domestic issues and a early return home for half the characters. Early return home for family due to holiday house being booked out by others but no, let's stop in another idyllic coastal setting during 'the high season' for a couple more days - sister in law in tow. Poker games and more feasting. On way home the car breaks down, sister in law and partner pick up children and mother - driven to Sydney and then they take an exciting plane flight back to Canberra - luggage almost lost. Meanwhile... Father says with car for 3 1/2 hours waiting in hot sun for NRMA and tow truck - apparently mechanics busy with 25 other cars, second day and still waiting - radiator broken and new one has to be delivered from a larger town. Another day waiting for car.... Golf game played and father wins the competition... but still waiting for car.... does this sound like the beginning of a mystery or is it just a bit suspect?
