Bliss Bombs

J3's 2nd Birthday

November the 1st 2005 - today was J3's 2nd Birthday, I was congratulated instead of J3 and I didn't really think about what that meant until later.... Experiences slowly dissolve into gaps and the present surpasses the past..... We say J3 was born happy and he still is.

As we left for J3's birthday picnic, it started to rain - most would panic but we left knowing that where J1 works it has its own weather channel, and of course it was fine when we arrived.

We had wholemeal salmon cakes, topped with sour cream and pecans, pastry free zucchini and mint slice and wild mushroom risotto.

The birthday cupcakes got attacked by crows, who pecked their way through the plastic container they were in, so J3 missed out on that little ritual. Will make up for it at the party.

We then went to my work where 'Melbourne Cup' was on in full swing, haven't seen the Partners in such a festive mood since... well perhaps before 'the war'?

I have been concerned lately about the food that we have been eating and J1 has been bombarded with 'exciting' conconctions of chickpeas, lentils and various other wholegrain and high/low GI, organic foods. I made some Bliss Bombs for a 'special' sweet treat - they are pretty good considering they are gluten and sugar free.

Bliss Bombs

In a food processor blend, puffed millet, sunflower/pumpkin and sesame seeds, mixed unsalted nuts, dried fruit (sulphur free), coconut. Process and pour in some rice syrup and tahini, mix into balls and roll in coconut.
