Surf and Turf

Ok - so finally I have decided on a dish for the inlaws Christmas feast. We had this tonight and amazingly the steak turned out to be tastier than the prawns? Its based on a recipe by Ainsley Harriott - of course the ingredients have been changed to confuse the innocent.

Make a marinade with mirin, sake, soy, grated ginger, garlic, green chillies, kaffir lime, lime zest and paprika. Cut up organic scotch fillet steaks (2) into cubes, shell-devein and leave tails on 20 prawns and marinade all for 15mins to 2 hours.

Make a melted butter, grated ginger, garlic, lime zest sauce. After melting the butter and other ingredients add tarragon or herb of choice and squeeze of lime juice.

BBQ skewers for 5-10mins and serve with lime halves and melted butter sauce. Makes 10 large skewers.

I served this with plain Jasmine rice (bread would also be good as you need something to sop up the juices) and a tomato/cucumber, Persian feta salad.
