Long weekend and the playground/cubby is almost finished, Big J is happy to sell the blueprints - just take the drawings, work out quanities, cut and assemble - so simple....
Roof is the only item remaining. The kids played all afternoon ringing the fireman 25cent bell (from revolve) , sliding down the slippery slide to quelch imaginary fires and viewing the disasters through the telescope. Next DIY adventure is to make a wood fired oven.
We are also waiting for the street fireworks party, it rained yesterday so hopefully Monday night we will have the big bang(s), A(23) muttered something along the lines of dry ice and shaken cola or was that a cocktail recipe?
We had the H/L's over for breakfast - we had poached eggs, bernaise sauce, crunchy curly bacon, roasted paprika tomatoes, pesto stuffed mushrooms, olive bread, warm cherry muffins (topped with homemade lemon curd - lemons courtesy of the Cox's) and fruit salad.
Easy Bernaise Sauce
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1 tsp white wine vinegar
1 tsp fresh tarragon
1/2 cup butter melted
Combine egg yolks, lemon juice, vinegar, tarragon and butter in a container, blend with mixer until thick. Keep warm over bowl of hot water (this is good as it thickens and cooks a little bit more). Makes 1 cup (enough to cover 8 eggs).
