This weekend was as crazy as most, J3's swimming lesson, J4's gym class, getting materials for building, J1 golf , buying a new mattress and the neverending household tasks that spiral around our static centres. J1 managed to do quite a bit on the playground - looks like we have to wait another weekend till its finished, as the slide won't come till Tuesday.

Its getting colder!
I don't have a picture of this cake - it was eaten before I could blog it.
Cherry Almond Cake (with variations)
200g butter
200g sugar
4 eggs
200g ground almonds (or hazelnuts)
100g grated cooking chocolate (or dark chocolate drops)
2-3 tablespoons rum (or cherry brandy)
1 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
75g wholemeal flour
750g sour pitted cherries (or other fruit)
Preheat oven 175D C. Grease and line a pan. Beat butter and sugar together, add eggs and beat until creamy. Add ground nuts, chocolate, rum and cinnamon and beat till blended. Sift together baking powder, flour and fold into mixture with cherries. Cook for 45mins.
