Horroscope

I read my horoscope today and it said that yesterday was going to be terrible, planets aliging themselves in some contorted skewif manner and it was. J3's swim class instructor didn't turn up, J4's gym class instructor didn't turn up and then the Citroen got its driver seat window smashed in while we were at the park (the one near Lake Ginninderra). After spending a couple of hours cleaning the car, ringing police and insurers, we find out that the car was insured, we have to pay a large excess and that the contents that were lost are not. If only I had read it yesterday and stayed at home.

We did get to go to the Bangarra dance group performance of Clan on Saturday night, they did amazing things with string. For some reason string and dance are often seen coupled together - a confusing yet spectacular way to spellbind an audience - this time I think we had bush tobacco smoke wafting through from the last dance sequence, perhaps it wasn't really as wonderful as it looked but drug induced?

We had a steamboat on the weekend, lots of marinated meat and vegetables, cooked in a ginger infused chicken broth and tonight a BBQ'd banana leaf fish.

Small piece of blachan
Turmeric
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
1 onion
Curry leaves, kaffir lime leaves
3 cloves garlic
Piece of ginger
1 tablespoon oil
(can add chilli if you or kids like it)

Blend above together, fry in pan for 5 mins, add lime or lemon juice and 1 cup coconut milk and cook for another 3 minutes. Cool.

Put fish (we used ocean trout but snapper would also be good) on banana leaves, cover with above mixture and wrap (I then wrapped this in foil) put on BBQ and cook for 10 mins till fish is cooked.
