Something Smoking

Pea and Ham Soup (Bill's Favourite)

1 Smoked Bacon Hock
2 cups green split peas
1 onion
1 clove garlic
1 sliced carrot
1/4 cup sliced celery

Cook Bacon, onion, carrot and celery in pot of slowly simmering water for 1-2 hours, add split peas and cook for 30 Min's to 1 hour until split peas are soft. Take out pork, puree the soup, add water if too thick, slice meat up finely and reincorporate into the soup.

Crispy Chicken Dippers

Chicken Thigh fillets
Teriyaki sauce
Cornflakes or Wheat Flakes
Finely Grated Cheese

Slice chicken into strips. Marinate in Teriyaki sauce. Crush cornflakes and add cheese, dunk in chicken strips. Cook 190C for 25 Min's. Serve with favourite dipping sauce.

Just got back from Sydney, S, D and I had a lovely time, eating our way through 'Yum Cha' in Chinatown, Vietnamese for dinner (Vietking) and breaky in a renovated post office in Marrickville. Not to mention the gelato on King Street and the freshly made, soft green pandanus cake from a little old lady in Marrickville. Thanks S and D I had a wonderful time.
