Chinese New Year's Eve, this year is the year of the Golden Pig (only once in 60 year occurrence) - Mum was sure there was too much food but as always we managed to devour it all.
Beautifully made and tasty wontons, prawn pot stickers, crispy spring rolls and soy sauce simmered mushrooms to represent money and coins. Slippery chinese white cut chicken, masterstock star anise scented duck, steamed snapper (excess) anointed with spring onion, coriander with all the necessary sauces and condiments were a feast for the eyes and belly.
Lucky shaped sugary doughnuts and dark red taro cake managed to fit into our bloated tummy's for dessert.
Tomorrow you are not supposed to use knives, throw or sweep anything out and you must not discipline the children. We shall see how that goes.
