This is my 100th post, doesn't seem that long ago I started this blog. Thinking of milestones, J1said that I have known him longer than half my life (from last March) and he will have known me longer than half his life next March - that gives me goose pimples, not of course only thinking about J1 but the idea of time going so silently and giddily fast.
K had her milestone 40th birthday party in Sydney, the female/male numbers were a bit like the odds for the horse I had bet on in the Melbourne cup - 40 to 5. It was fun to go out with J1 and the D's, the night went quite smoothly, although someone did say to me at the end, at least you won't get asked to make the cake again. This speared my ego somewhat but its always good to get a smack in the head every so often.

K, K and G arrived to Sunday lunch in a limo, quite over the top. The meal order was lost and the food finally arrived an hour after ordering, luckily we were in centennial park with a playground close by. My whole week has been similar - people mixing up times/orders and appointments, I expect it was something to do with the Mercury/Sun eclipse.
I made a great no butter/oil celebration loaf cake from Bill Granger's new book 'Every Day' to help boost my deflated sense of self.Apple, Dried Blueberry, Cherry and Almond Loaf
1/2 cup rolled oats, 300ml milk, 2 cups self-raising flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 125g dried blueberries, 50g dried apple, 75g soft brown sugar, 1 tin drained pitted cherries, 1 teaspoon mixed spice, 3 tablespoons honey, 1 egg, almonds.
Put oats in bowl, pour over milk, soak for 30 mins. Preheat oven 180C. Grease tin. Mix all ingredients together. Cook for 45 mins.

Thank you thank you thank you to all the Js for making my party absolutely wonderful.
J2 (and Mum) made a wonderful cake, and conspired to make it all a great surprise (despite J1 spilling the beans that morning - I was too distracted to realise what he was talking about).
J3 and Gini gave an inspired performance of "Little Bunny Foo-foo" for the enjoyment of all, J4 had a lovely time with the Barbie bus, and they all gave me a stunning necklace and earrings.
Thank you!
lots of love
K
