Scary

At Christmas we have decided to buy a gift for someone which is charity based, I think most were thinking about getting a goat for a family in Kenya, a water well - you know the basics for survival.

I am thinking perhaps a little more in terms of survival of the planet - Dad went to see Al Gore's new film 'an inconvenient truth' which is about the danger Earth face's due to our increase in C02 emmissions. It really makes you feel sick. So my gift (climate friendly) this year is going to be based on the environment and hopefully trying to help reduce C02 and the very real future senario of the sea boiling and the loss of our atmosphere altogether.

Other things we have tried to do - we have changed our electrical supply to 'green power', we have changed our car to a diesel version, the house is 5 star energy rated, the garden is mainly planted with native's, we try to plant 4 or 5 trees every couple of years, we have a dual flush cistern, energy saving lights and a couple of weeks ago put on a water saving shower head (much to the grief of J1). If anyone else has some ideas (workable ones) please let me know.

http://www.climatefriendly.com/ website lets you invest in green house friendly projects such as windmills so that you can compensate for those flights to London (or Fiji)
